None can deny a simple fact – the two neighboring countries of India and China do represent two most ancient civilizations in the history of mankind and have been staying alongside for centuries at a stretch. Nevertheless, there have been bitter political feuds in the modern era; contrary to expectations, there has also been a deep sense of mutual respect between the two. And this is not without reason. In accordance with pundits, it has been due to India’s immense philosophical influence on China without firing a single shot! The same has also been stated by Hu Shih (December 17, 1891 – February 24, 1962), noted Chinese diplomat, essayist, literary scholar, philosopher and also politician. Apart from this he was also celebrated for profound contributions in the spectrum of literature and languages in China.
