There is an age-old maxim in Hindi, “Subah ka Bhula sham ko ghar aa jaye to use Bhula nahin kahte” meaning if anyone rectifies his mistake finally, he can be pardoned. The present episode of Hardik Patel, famous Patidar leader from the Indian state of Gujarat, fits to this category perfectly. It was only in 2015 when Hardik was witnessed first as the firebrand leader and shot to fame championing Patidar reservation agitation demanding OBC (Other Backward Caste) status. Indeed, he is controversial for several reasons in private life but politically has remained a hard-working activist. And this can be found from his initial journey from PAAS or Patidar Anamat Andolon Samiti to Congress and now in Bhartaiya Janata Party or BJP, which was stridently opposed by him once.
