If there is any quiz competition to determine the institution in India with the highest number of increasing properties, the answer would be very simple – WAQF Board. In accordance with latest estimation based on Sachar Committee Report, across India there is no less than 4.9 lakh registered WAQF properties comprising around 6 acres of land and with an approximate value of Rs. 1. 20 lakh crore. Among the Indian states, Maharashtra is atop the list with 92, 000 acres of land as WAQF properties. And to be precise, the list never ends or remains constant. According to many, India is reeling under the propulsion of WAQF imperialism as it tends to increase by each year. Why Haldwani settlers do prefer to be in governmental lands instead of massive WAQF property then? The answer is yet to be found.
