This is certainly a welcome gesture by any public servant and must be applauded. We are talking of the Collector & District Magistrate VP Gautam who has shown great courage by cancelling the SC Certificate of Garapati Ruthu Daivakripa, resident of Billapadu village within Khammam district in the Indian state of Telengana, and a Christian by the faith. It has been learnt, Garapati converted to Christianity but obtained a Hindu Mala certificate. How? She didn’t notify the concerned authority of her conversion while Indian Constitution states firmly that no person from any faith other than Hindu, Sikh and Buddhist shall be considered member of a Scheduled Caste.
