How can an UK-born Islamic research scholar take part in religious program in India? This grave issue is coming forth for two reasons. While on one hand, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs made it clear of late that the Government of India doesn’t issue visas to religious preachers desiring to visit India, basically to take part in religious campaigns as well as related activities, Saqib Iqbal Shami, globally renowned Islamic research scholar, took part on February 02, 2023 in a mammoth religious program at Aligarh Muslim University in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, on the other hand. his Facebook and Twitter accounts are filled with his tour and schedule in the pipeline.
Saqib Iqbal Shami is touring India from January 26 and as part of his 26-day this Pakistan-born Islamic preacher is going to attend a massive religious event on February 04, 2023 at Warangal, Telengana, as a chief guest and also principal speaker. Legal Rights Protection Forum, an NGO has already lodged a complaint to the Ministry of Home Affairs terming the entire tour as illegal.
